Happy new year to all & a resounding huzzah to the new Congress & Governor Deval Patrick! Our album Marginalia is out January 23 on Brah/Jagjaguwar. I intended to start using this page as a blog of sorts, but my dream of long days spent puzzling out html while nursing the baby on the couch is about to fizzle when my maternity leave is up in a couple of weeks.
In 2001 we released a 16-song album called Ancient History, including such never-heard hits as "Rebel Girl" and "Do the Pony!." For reasons related to being a small band with no label at the time, we now have numerous copies of said album in our possession. For a copy email us at nurseandsoldier@gmail.com.
Way back in 1999 we released a 7", which is available at Insound.

I don't know about you, but ever since I read the Guided By Voices history a couple of weeks ago, I've got GBV on the mind. Is Bob Pollard selling cheap pharmaceuticals & sexual enhancement devices over the web or is someone just stealing his mind to send me spam? Here's an abbreviated (and slightly edited) list of eerily Guided By Voices-like spam addresses showing up in my Gmail account:
Mounded Crafts
Amiss Kohlrabies
Editor Bob
Bottlenecks You Plunder
Summer Assessor
Fluoride Dealerships
Artlessly Mastadons
Drab Fishhooks
Bacchanal Irredeemable
Anchovy Preference
Aquarium Syringes
This is the sort of thing we do in Boston to pass the time during the winter.

Back to school! Nurse & Soldier is playing at Zuzu in Central Square, Cambridge, on Wednesday September 21. Featuring newest N&S collaborators Darkness of Je Suis France and The Field Recordist, formerly of Chambly. I believe we're on at 10 PM, and we're playing with Organelles and Forbes Graham. This is part of the NEST Fest. If I really knew HTML I'd fix the thing up top; we live in Boston.
